About us

An eco-adventure hostel and coffee shack run by a mixture of globetrotters and locals with a passion for sustainability, community and the land.

About us

With the knowledge and experience of our Killarney natives and our multi-national Black Sheep team you will never be short of ideas for what to see and do in Killarney.

Situated on a quiet street just one minute walk from Killarney National Park and town centre, you don’t have far to go for outdoor activities, live entertainment or a lovely pint.

We’ll help you organise trips around Kerry such as boat trips on the Lakes of Killarney, guided walks up the highest mountain in Ireland, bus tours around the famous Ring of Kerry and much more. Here you can also get in-depth advice on many walks, treks and cycles in Killarney and Kerry.

Inside our hostel, we’ll have the fire on for you in the evening if it’s cold. Unwind in our super-cosy living room which has a communal guitar, chess board, games and book-share shelf. We have a fully equipped kitchen with all your cooking essentials and some free pasta for the budget-conscious traveller. At night, sleep sound in our timber pod-style beds with your own light, power point, locker space and privacy curtain.

Outside our hostel you’ll find The Black Sheep Coffee Shack. We serve single origin speciality coffee from around the world. Our coffee shack has long been enjoyed by both hostel goers and locals.

Breakfast is included and consists of fruit, toast, tea, coffee, a selection of jams and spreads, yogurt and cereal. If you’re lucky you might even get some fresh eggs from our chickens!

If you prefer to take it easy you can chill in the hammock with our four hostel dogs. They are usually found pottering around our organic vegetable garden or snuggled up on the couch.
